Split is one of the oldest and most exciting cities on the Croatian side of Adriatic coast. It is a remarkable example of urban continuity. Palmižana (namely Vinogradišće bay) is a large shallow bay with a beautiful sandy beach. It is surrounded by pine trees, fragrant lavander and rosemary bushes, and a host of exotic plants. These islands are part of the Hvar archipeligo, and we can say without exaggeration, they are the most beautiful on the entire Croatian coast. Once upon a time Bol was a settlement of wine-growers, fishermen and sailmen, and today it is primarily a tourist settlement. People are direct and original. Bol is the favorite destination for excursion boats and yachtsmen, and has a special berth in port for yachts.
